The original Nagini was a hybrid of a python and an anaconda, stretching twenty feet from snout to tail. For the revision, senior visual effects supervisor Tim Burke wanted more python and more menace. To spark the artists imaginations, he brought a professional snake wrangler to Leavesden and shot photographs and video of a real python for reference. The final Nagini design is mainly python but with a few borrowed features such as the eyes of a viper and movements of a cobra that make her more intimidating.
